Many legacy systems will soon be a thing of the past and no longer supported as newer technology and networks become available.

 

WiFi in business jets is nothing new.  The latest statistics show that 80% of business jets will have WiFi in the near future.  There are many benefits to being part of that 80%: More attractive charter options for customers, better productivity during travel, and even keeping the kids occupied on long trips with streaming movies and videos. 

While the benefits are lengthy, the cost is still high.  Many legacy systems will soon be a thing of the past and no longer supported as newer technology and networks become available.  Gogo Inflight Internet Company has recently announced a $45,000 installation credit or 1 year of premium service for any customer that currently has an existing ATG system and upgrades to their latest platform, the L5 Avance system. 

As with any technology, there are always improvements and new things happening.  So what’s next?.... A 5G network with even faster speeds is right on the horizon and expected to be fully operational by 2021.
